Care Instructions
Follow our simple care instructions to extend the life of your Performance® bedding and maintain a clean, healthy sleep environment for years to come.
Product Care
Pillow Care
Most of our Performance® Pillows feature a removable, washable cover, making it easy to keep fresh and clean.
-
- Unzip and remove the cover.
- Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle.
- For best results, we recommend hanging your pillow cover to air dry. However, if you prefer to use a dryer, be sure to tumble dry on low heat only.
- Do not wash the inner pillow fills—these are spot clean only.
- Do not bleach, iron, dry clean, or use fabric softener.
Pillows that do not feature a removable cover should be spot cleaned only.
Adjusting To Your New Pillow
It’s common for your body to take a few nights to adjust to your new pillow before you experience optimal comfort. This adjustment period will soon pass as the pillow works to properly align your head, neck, and spine.
To help reduce any initial odors from manufacturing and shipping, we recommend letting your pillow air out for 12-24 hours before use.
-
Mattress Protector Care
Your mattress protector does a lot of dirty work, and keeping it clean is crucial for maintaining a healthy sleep environment.
- Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle.
- Air dry or tumble dry on low heat (reposition occasionally for even drying).
- Do not iron, dry clean, or use fabric softener.
- Do not use bleach; if necessary, opt for non-chlorine bleach only.
Accidents happen unexpectedly, so it’s a good idea to have a spare protector while yours is in the wash.
Mattresses Care
Standard Mattresses
Our standard Performance® Mattresses are spot clean only. To maximize the lifespan of your mattress, we highly recommend using a Performance® Mattress Protector to guard against spills, stains, and common allergens.
- Use a clean, damp cloth with mild detergent to clean any soiled areas.
- Air dry only.
Modular Mattresses
Cleaning your mattress has never been easier, thanks to the modular design of select Performance® Mattresses, like the M3. This innovative design allows you to easily disassemble the mattress for deep cleaning.
-
-
- Unzip and remove the top cover from the mattress base.
- Unzip the comfort layer and remove its cover.
- Machine wash both covers cold on a gentle cycle (Do not wash inner foam layer).
- Tumble dry on low heat (reposition occasionally for even drying).
- Do not iron, dry clean, or use fabric softener.
- Do not use bleach; if necessary, opt for non-chlorine bleach only.
Deep Cleaning Your Modular Mattress
- Unzip and remove the top cover, comfort layer, and Independent Suspension™ units.
- Avoid removing the base cover.
- Using your vacuum cleaner’s hose attachment, vacuum inside the chassis.
- Spot clean as needed.
- Once clean and dry, simply reinsert the Independent Suspension™ units and comfort layer into the chassis, then reattach the top cover.
Adjusting To Your New Mattress
Your new mattress can take up to 30 days to fully break in and feel just right. As you adjust to the improved support, the mattress will also gradually adapt to your body. This adjustment period is typical and helps ensure your long-term comfort.
To help reduce any initial odors from manufacturing and shipping, we recommend letting your mattress air out for 12-24 hours before use.
